AISHA IFE

Self Portrait by Aisha Ife

About Me

Aisha Ife is a photographer from Lagos, Nigeria. She specialises in Portrait and Product photography and has a keen passion for art, architecture and design.

She considers photography a means of expression both for her subjects and herself. Her work focuses on preserving timeless moments for clients of diverse backgrounds. By allowing them to be vulnerable and emotional, she’s able to capture their true essence.

Her work offers new insights into what it means to capture varied skin tones. In her project, The Skin Series, she photographed men and women with acne to challenge unrealistic beauty standards and celebrate beautiful imperfections. She also created Melanin and Colours to explore the interaction between dark skin tones and colours.

In 2020, she released a personal editorial project, The Gèlè series which documents the boisterous gèlè styles of the ’80s and ’90s in Nigeria.

As a product photographer, Aisha utilises colour, geometry, texture and her love for design to help ambitious brands tell authentic stories. She offers creative direction, styling, stop motion gifs and product photography to businesses in several industries, including skincare, makeup, jewellery, eyewear, food and beverages, and more. She has worked with Andrea Iyamah, Nestle Milo, Zaron Cosmetics, Samsung Nigeria, Drip Africa, Refresh Yoghurt and several other world-class businesses.

In the past four years of her illustrious career, Aisha Ife has explored a range of mediums to showcase her love for art and architecture. This includes a print shop where she sells postcards that helps homeowners create intimacy in their spaces. She is also the creative director of Littart by Aì, where she curates unique, well-crafted stationery, and the curator of Structures of Lagos, where she documents rare and beautiful buildings in Lagos, Nigeria, using her iPhone.

When she’s not creating elegant images, Aisha is passionate about starting communities to help creators thrive. In particular, she cares about improving the visibility of women in photography and is one of the founders of Tiwa, a community of Nigerian female photographers.

She enjoys reading, illustrating, doodling, and caring for her plants in her spare time.
